Cross Cultures would not have gone this far without our experienced and talented advisors! Our four advisors come from different cultural backgrounds, each bringing their unique insights to better Cross Cultures’ developments in the coming future.

Ms. Fernandez is a first grade teacher at Chandler School in Pasadena, and a former teacher at Polytechnic School. Aside from caring for her students at school, she is also an active leader in the foster care community around the neighborhood.

Mrs. Wong is a longtime community volunteer, active in multiple capacities. The organizations she has served include the San Marino School Foundation (as trustee), the PTAs of several schools in the San Marino School District (as fund-raising chair, Chinese community liaison, curriculum lab leader), the Crowell Public Library (as storytime reader, learning program organizer and youth and parent volunteer coordinator), the Pasadena Cotillions (as patron). She has been giving advice to the young leaders of Cross Cultures in creating service programs and training up new members.

Lauren is a graduate student specializing in political and environmental journalism at the University of Southern California (USC). She grew up in the melting pot of culture and diversity in Honolulu, Hawaii. Using her pen and voice, Lauren hopes to celebrate the differences and share backgrounds by connecting with students worldwide.

Mr. Roffina is a World History faculty at Flintridge Preparatory School who enjoys exploring the correlation of culture and history of different countries under different time frames with his students. He is also the director of Outdoor Education, and a Red Cross CPR/Lifeguard Instructor.
