I taught Ethan for two classes this week. We have been using the teaching materials provided by Ethan's mother. We learned three new Chinese poems, and I dissected the verses and explained what each sentence meant. He could read it out himself because his mother asks him to review the poems after class. We also read the new poem "Swallow" and reviewed the previous poem. Ethan's Chinese level is relatively high so that he can absorb most of the class’s content, but it takes a lot of effort for him to recognize and pronounce the more difficult Chinese characters.
